Memorial Service for June Peretti

June Eldeen Peretti

June E. Peretti was born June 1, 1928, in Portland, Oregon. The youngest of two children of Metah and Anton Holstrom, she lived her entire life in the Portland metro area. She graduated from Chapman Grade School and Lincoln High School. She furthered her education by receiving a nursing degree from Emanuel School of Nursing. While working as an OB nurse at Emanuel Hospital, she decided to take a few courses at Cascade College where she met the love of her life, Dale F. Peretti. They were married May 26, 1956, at the First Evangelical Brethren Church in NW Portland. After teaching and working at Emanuel, June continued her career as a nursing instructor at Mt. Hood Community College. During those years she also attended the University of Portland and attained a Masters Degree in teaching. June continued teaching nursing at Mt. Hood Community College until retirement.

June was also the organist at Temple Baptist Church for 50 years. She taught piano lessons and shared her joy of music with family and friends. Her son and daughter are both skilled musicians.

She will be remembered for her sense of humor, intellect and care for those in need. She was devoted to her husband Dale (married 57 years), her two children and grandchildren. June’s compassion for others was the theme of her life. She always had a quick wit and a twinkle in her eye. June brightened and encouraged the lives of all who knew her.

June was predeceased by her parents, Metah and Anton Holstrom, and her husband, Dale Peretti. She is survived by her son, Jeff Peretti (Debra) of Seaside, Oregon; daughter, Karen Bryant of Portland; grandchildren, Eric and Lisa Bryant; and sister, Inez Famous of Portland, Oregon.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 18, 11:00 am, at Temple Baptist Church, 1319 NE 7th, Portland, OR 97232. A reception will follow.

Those wishing to give memorial donations may do so in June's name to Temple Baptist Church.
